Sony revealed in their recent PS5 event that their popular iteration of the classic webslinger will see some form of successor on its next generation gaming console. Spider Man on the PS4 was met with very positive reception, both critically and publicly.

Spider Man’s journey on the PS4 cemented his position as the friendly neighborhood Spider Man, and left various easter eggs hinting at the inclusion of the Green Goblin in the sequel. The involvement of Parker in Spider Man Miles Morales is unknown, as is whether or not this title is a full-fledged sequel or something of a spin-off ala Infamous First Light.
