The nostalgia continues!

With the success of Crash Bandicoot: N. Sane Trilogy back in 2017, and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled in 2019, the zany anthropomorphic marsupial will once more run, jump, and spin around in the newly announced Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time. For a series beloved since 1996, it really is about time for Crash to strap his red sneakers once more for a new thrilling adventure.

The reveal trailer shows some of the original characters like the eponymous Crash and Coco Bandicoot facing their old nemesis Doctor Neo Cortex and his gang of misfits. The one minute and a half video show us fresh, updated looks for the characters and the world that gives a familiar vibe of the original trilogy, yet leave rooms for us to be excited about wumping around lush jungles, shining cities, and what looks like pirate ships with Crash and Coco (and hopefully more playable characters!). Speaking of…

Have we lived long enough to be the villain?

In the video, we see a quick glimpse of gameplay with Doctor Neo Cortex as a playable character. Unlike Crash or Coco, however, Doctor Neo Cortex probably won’t be spinning his way out of obstacles, as the video shows him brandishing his iconic laser blaster. He still has to jump platforms, though.

The reveal trailer also gives a quick glimpse of new mechanic for the gameplay, including new masks that will protect Crash and Coco along with their trustworthy floating mask Aku-Aku. So far, there are three new guardian masks shown in the trailer that give Crash different, unique abilities to wend through the obstacles of his adventures.

The game is available for pre-order now in PS Store. If you buy it digitally, you can play the game with a bonus of Totally Tubular Skins pack on October 2, 2020. For more information about the marsupial’s newest adventure, stay tuned!
