If you’re reading this then I’m sure, like me, you’ve just finished The Last of Us Part II and have been left in an emotional state like everyone here at Mendax Games! Unfortunately, there’s no new content coming out anytime soon to jump straight into and fill that void.

Naughty Dog’s creative director Neil Druckmann participated in an spoiler-filled interview with the Kinda Funny Gamescast in which they talked talked freely about the game and its future. During the interview, Druckmann was asked about the possibility of additional single-player content appearing for The Last of Us Part II, such as the critically acclaimed ‘Left Behind’ DLC spawned by its predecessor.

He clearly states that there is nothing in the pipelines for DLC at this time, so we can all curb our enthusiasm for the foreseeable future. Druckmann however, didn’t say no to the idea of an eventual Factions update. Factions was the name of the multiplayer component present in The Last of Us Part I. The mode was cut during the development of Part II, but Druckmann has gone on record as claiming that we’ll still see the work the team put into the game mode at some point in the future. Whether this multiplayer mode will blossom as its own experience or as additional content for Part II remains to be seen.

“No, there’s no plans for DLC.” – Neil Druckmann

Could this mean we’ll be getting some sort of multiplayer in the future? Is this what you want? Let us know in the comments below. For more information about the Last of Us Part II and Naughty Dog’s future plans both within the franchise and beyond, stay tuned!
